Have You Hired Your Summer Engineering Intern?

Spring is here, and that means summer won’t be far behind. Is your summer workforce where it needs to be?

If not, Engineering Career Services at Iowa State University is eager to work with any company interested in hiring engineering interns during the coming summer. As of April 5, registrations are still being accepted in CyHire for a Late Spring Virtual Career Fair on April 7. The event will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and cost $125 for registering employers.

Employers also now have access to a resume book if they have a position currently posted in CyHire.

Iowa State’s College of Engineering is committed to providing students with an experiential educational program. Working in Iowa companies helps Iowa State students see the practicality of their coursework, develop workplace skills, and generally get ready to hit the ground running when it comes time to enter the workforce on a permanent basis.

For employers, internships and co-ops provide a way to get real engineering work done while also getting acquainted with top young minds so you can make better hiring decisions when the time comes to search for a fulltime employee.

Engineering Career Services will work with your company to establish an experiential education program at your facility. (This does not involve a great deal of effort but does require a commitment to assist with the development of learning objectives, provide mentoring and supervision of the student worker and complete an online survey to provide feedback on the student’s engineering competencies.)
