Sept. 26 is National PTAC Day to celebrate GovCon success

Ninety-five Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) – with over 300 local offices – form a nationwide network of more than 600 dedicated procurement professionals who work to help local businesses successfully sell their products and services to government agencies. In 2017, the PTAC network served more than 48,000 clients and helped them win more than $20 billion in government contracts and subcontracts. The more successful our nation’s small businesses are in the government marketplace, the stronger our regional and national economies grow.

CIRAS has served as Iowa’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center since 2000. Last year, CIRAS Government Contracting Specialists worked with 863 Iowa businesses to help them successfully identify, compete for, and win more than $163 million in government contracts.

To celebrate the success of PTAC clients in communities across the country, the national PTAC network is hosting the first annual National PTAC day on September 26th.

Iowans will be able to learn more about the PTAC network and government contracting by logging into a special webinar that will be made available nationwide on September 26 beginning at 1 p.m. Iowa time. The webinar, Top Tips for Finding and Winning Government Contracts, will be presented by a panel of PTAC procurement experts and will include valuable insights that both newcomers and veteran government contractors will be able to use.

If you can’t make the webinar, we hope you will still send celebratory thoughts by tweeting or posting on other social media (#PTACDay) about your government contracting success and how the CIRAS Procurement Technical Assistance Program has helped your business.

We hope you have a happy National PTAC Day!
