Enhance your meat processing capabilities with the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Butchery Innovation and Revitalization Program

The Butchery Innovation and Revitalization Program, managed by the Iowa Economic Development Authority, offers financial support to enhance small-scale meat processing operations, including licensed custom lockers and mobile slaughter units. The program targets businesses seeking to expand, refurbish, or establish new facilities, providing grants of up to $100,000 with a one-to-one matching requirement.

For businesses interested in applying for the Butchery Innovation and Revitalization Program, it’s important to note that the application period runs from February 15 to April 18.

The program requires applicants to complete a CIRAS assessment as part of the process, which is open now. The deadline to submit the CIRAS assessment is March 7.

Detailed information on how to apply, including eligibility criteria, application requirements, and FAQs, can be found on the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s website. You can also view a recorded webinar about the grant program hosted by CIRAS and IEDA.
